The Cruising Life
The Community Club at St. Bart's, a social and philanthropic club sponsored by St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in Manhattan, has had an active sailing group for more years than anyone currently involved can remember. The Club first leased a boat to sail in Long Island Sound in the early 1980s. In the late 1980s they upgraded to a donated Sabre 34 which they still sail.
In the 1980s the sailors first researched chartering a sailboat in the Caribbean. The BVI was selected as the best first-time destination, and the Club offered its members the chance to cruise for a week, including airfare, food, and hotel, for about $1000.
This Photo Album covers the Club's trips since 1990. We've tried to keep the file sizes small, but please be patient while the images load. If you went on one of these trips and have a picture you think should be here, please let us know--we'll be glad to try to accommodate. Likewise, if you're pictured here and you HATE it, we'll remove the picture. Just send an email.
